Why You Are Getting This Email Technology Services has begun the preliminary steps of running the term (which is different than the annual) reports for MIS. Although Technology Services runs and submits the reports to the state Chancellor’s Office, you know your data best! Audit Your Data Please take some time to look over last year’s data elements that required corrections. If you need a report created to audit your data please submit a HelpDesk Ticket and forward me the ticket receipt email. It won’t be created this cycle, but I really want this to become a proactive process. The timeline for correcting errors is very, very short, so I would really appreciate the head start. Why is this This Important The MIS report became more important when the Chancellor’s Office tied 30% of our funding to data elements that the district submits on the reports. While it was always important, this aspect increased the need for transparency and a renewed effort towards accuracy. What’s Next Technology Services will begin uploading the term reports to the MIS Test website. That site will give us a partial list of errors that we must resolve before continuing. Ludmila and I will be communicating by email with you and your supervisor/VP to resolve any errors that occur. We’ll work through the cryptic errors that the website spits out together until there are no more errors. I am here to help until the reports are as accurate as they can be. Additional Resources These two attached spreadsheets show who we think is responsible for the data (MIS Reports and Responsible Parties) and where the data lives in Banner (MIS Report Values). Also, the MIS Data Dictionary that we must comply with is located here for your reference. Thank You I know that these conversations and the work it requires is a lot, so thank you! |
