  • For functional views that return only 1 affirmative value. Return the Data Element name (Summary field) in a column of the same name.
  • For functional views that return non-binary values return the Codes and the Description fields as distinct columns. Prefer the validation table descriptions, but if that’s not an option than build the description into the functional view to avoid each programmer and researcher describing them differently.
