MIS Regulatory changes in CALBSTU 9 pages (released earlier in CALBSTU 8.13.1)
Institution MIS Control (SVAIMIS) page
This page was modified to include the new College and Career Access Pathways (CCAP) Program check box. This defines the institutional controls for the new SG13 element. This new control is similar to the others on the form and facilitates reporting SG13 as Y when the program is not offered at your institution.
MIS Special Term Data (SVAMIST) page
This page was modified to include the new College and Career Access Pathways tab. The new tab includes a check box, College and Career Access Pathways (CCAP) Participant. Use the check box to indicate if the student is part of the CCAP program. If the check box is not selected, the student will be treated as a non-participant in the CCAP program.
Changed report
The MIS SG Special Populations Data Record report that is generated by using the Report Engine (REPT) was revised as follows:
Omitted SG09 element logic and in place a filler is now reported.
Added SG12 element to report output using the SP02 element. This only looks at the Y and Z values, which are considered to be baccalaureate programs. Once a baccalaureate program is identified, the code unique code (SP04) will be returned. Only current and active curriculums will be reported, taking into account the highest priority.
Added SG13 element to report output using new columns SVBCCAP_CCAP_IND and SVBIMIS_CCAP_IND.
Background
Request to Update SG13 data element for College and Career Access Pathways one-time funding for instructional materials
Your college has been identified as one with a College and Career Access Pathways (CCAP) partnership agreement. As such you are eligible to receive funding for instructional materials for the high school students you serve. This memorandum is to provide notification of $2,500,000 one-time funding for instructional materials for high school students enrolled in a community college course through a College and Career Access Pathways partnership appropriated in AB 128 (Ting), Budget Act of 2021.
This funding will be allocated based on the number of Full Time Equivalent Student (FTES) data entered into the Chancellor’s Office Management Information Systems (COMIS) for the Special Populations Data Elements, SG13 Student-CCAP-Status. The amount of funds you receive will be determined by this amount based on a data query conducted by the Chancellor’s Office and entered into a proportional funding formula. To ensure accuracy of data and funding, please insure that your SG13 COMIS submissions are accurate.
In order to receive accurate one-time funding, please update your district/college SG13 data element for the following terms: Fall 2020, Winter 2021 (if applicable), and Spring 2021 by March 1, 2022. For districts to update previous term/year SG13 data you will have to resubmit term data files for the above terms. Term data resubmission requires all term files to be resubmitted together (not just the SG file). Your district staff responsible for COMIS data submission should be familiar with the process to resubmit COMIS data.
